Cancellation Policy

As long as you cancel 48 hours or more before the scheduled date of your trip, you will receive a full refund. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of a trip’s scheduled departure time.  ZTS reserves the right to cancel a trip at any time due to unsuitable or unsafe weather or river conditions.  If ZTS is forced to cancel a trip, you will be notified immediately and a full refund or alternate booking will be arranged.

How do I get a discount?

In general, the bigger the group, the bigger your discount! Book 11 or more people, and we’ll take 10% off. We also offer 10% discounts for all veterans and active service members.

Do I need experience to go rafting?

No experience is necessary for most of our trips. However, in early spring when the water is high, there may be certain eligibility requirements like good physical condition and the ability to self-rescue.

Will I fall out of the raft?

One of the reasons rafting is fun is that the outcome is a bit uncertain. Although we never try to flip rafts or dump people into the river, there is always a chance that you’ll get really wet. Much of this depends on which river you choose and the current water level.

What are your guides' qualifications?

All ZTS guides have undergone a week-long guide school, are certified Swiftwater Rescue Technicians, and have extensive first aid training. Guides must also log a certain amount of hours on the river, and personally be checked off by a trip leader before guiding guest on their own.

Do we have to paddle?

Paddling is fun and we encourage you to be an active participant in your adventure. On some of our trips – like high water Lochsa – your paddling is a MUST.

What if it rains?

ZTS goes rafting rain or shine! (You’re going to get wet anyway, so…)

What do you serve on your riverside lunch?

We work with a variety of local restaurants and farmers to provide the freshest lunches possible. The Soup Farm is the most popular vendor we work with and we provide their most popular sandwiches. Riverside lunches also come with chips, fresh pineapple, and cookies made from scratch.
