A typical full day on the water begins with an AM meet time (time and location to be arranged between guide and clients) followed by a short drive to the river. Alcohol free Beverages and a lunch, ranging from simple sandwiches to gourmet grilling, are included. Rivers that we fish include the Bitterroot, Clark Fork and Blackfoot (which requires a special commercial use permit). Additionally Guides provide flies, tippet and leader, as well as fly rods and reels if necessary. It is recommended that clients wear sensible shoes or sandals, and quick dry clothing that provides some sun protection. Also make sure to bring along sunscreen, a rain jacket, hat, and most importantly polarized sunglasses.
Come float the famed Blackfoot river that inspired Norman Maclean’s “A River Runs Through It”. This river flows approximately 60 miles through several shady canyons. It’s small rapids and complex currents will delight and challenge anglers of all skill levels. Populated predominantly with Westslope cutthroat it also has some exceptional browns and rainbows. It is also home to the endangered bull trout which sometimes exceed 30” in length. The Blackfoot River is a wonderful option for those interested in a beautiful, scenic float with some amazing dry fly fishing.
