    Overview

The Clark Fork River flows right through the heart of downtown Missoula and is our home river. Since the addition of Brennan's Wave in 2006, the Clark Fork has gained national attention for the abundance of recreational experiences it offers. Rafting the Clark Fork from Missoula offers the perfect mix of scenic beauty and exciting whitewater. The river passes through stunning sections of public land with plenty of opportunities for hiking, camping, and riverside picnics. The Clark Fork originates at the confluence of Silver Bow and Warm Springs Creeks near Butte and winds 340 miles through western Montana — it is the largest river in Montana by volume. Named for William Clark himself, the river was explored extensively during the Lewis and Clark expedition. The removal of the Milltown Dam in 2008 initiated an extraordinary cleanup, and today the result is a clean and lively river enjoyed by Montanans and visitors from all over the world.
