    Overview

The Clark Fork Scenic Float is the easiest way to get on Montana's largest river by volume — no whitewater experience required. We launch on a calm stretch of the Clark Fork, drift past riverside cottonwoods, watch for osprey and bald eagles, and take in views of the mountains that ring the Missoula Valley. The pace is unhurried; the boat is stable; and the river does most of the work. Your guide shares the Clark Fork's story — Lewis and Clark, the upstream mining cleanup that followed the 2008 removal of the Milltown Dam, and how the river became one of the cleanest big rivers in the West. Best for families with young kids, grandparents, multigenerational groups, corporate retreats, and anyone who wants river time without the whitewater.
