Riverside Lunch
A full day on the legendary Blackfoot with a riverside lunch in the wilderness.
RequestOverview
The Blackfoot Riverside Lunch trip is the complete Blackfoot River experience. Float through over 70 miles of crystal clear water, emerald pools, mossy cliffs, and ponderosa pine forest. Enjoy a satisfying riverside lunch along the banks of the river made famous by Norman Maclean's A River Runs Through It. The Blackfoot Valley provides critical habitat for grizzly bears, bighorn sheep, moose, elk, osprey, bald eagles, and pileated woodpeckers. The Nez Perce name for the Blackfoot is Cokahalishkit — river of the road to the buffalo. Captain Meriwether Lewis and nine soldiers followed this trail on their return trip of discovery in 1806. In 2008, the Milltown Dam was removed at the confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot Rivers, making it possible to float two rivers in one day.
