Out-Of-Town Trips

Out-of-town trips provide an opportunity for teenage kayakers to join other peers in their exploration of rivers beyond the Missoula Valley. Often facilitating friendships between youth kayaking clubs in the mountain states, these trips provide teens with a chance to travel, to participate in competitive events, and to develop skills over multiple days of paddling. Zoo Town Surfers’ out-of-town trips for the upcoming summer are:

Payette Boise River Revival

The event brings whitewater enthusiasts' together to compete, participate and celebrate Idaho's Payette and  Boise Rivers.

May 29th-June 2nd.  Cost:  $400.  For more information on the event go to:  http://www.pbrkayakevent.com

British Columbia/Skookumchuck Trip

This adventure is the crown trip of the summer and takes the Zoo Town Surfers on a grand loop from Missoula to the Skookumchuck Narrows north of Vancouver, BC, and back again. After spending time surfing “Skook,” the group heads through Squamish and Whistler on the way to the Clearwater River, located north of Kamloops. Group participants at the Clearwater will learn why this river is known for its excellent waves, beautiful canyons, and crystalline water. The variety of additional rivers and sections kayaked along the way are determined by the skill of the kayakers within the group and the river levels. If you want to camp, cookout, tour the rivers of British Columbia, and join friends for a full-length paddling journey, don’t miss this exciting trip of big water action.

August 2nd-15th, $1,100 ($900 for ZTS club members).  For more information go to: www.worldclassacademy.com.
